Short Sticks. Originating with ancient village militias, and gaining popularity with the Royal Court because of its concealability.

The Dan Bong is held roughly in the middle of its relatively short length (approx. 11 in. minimum, 13 in. maximum), with the thumb & index finger aligning with the exact center so that passing the stick from one hand to another makes the grip automatic by butting one hand against the other, while releasing the original grip. Strikes are made with both ends of the Dan Bong, in extremely quick succession. This "flicking" motion is made possible by keeping the middle & ring fingers as tight as possible, as well as the thumb, while allowing the little & index fingers to be somewhat loose.

Here are some examples: note that the short stick with a lanyard is also called Jool Bong (i.e. Rope Staff) and is capable of additional swinging techniques other than just the double ended strikes with a plain short stick.
